Installing the font on Windows:
- Download the .zip file
- Unpack (extract) the contents. Generally Right-Click>’Extract All’ works fine. If not you can always use a free unzipping program like 7-Zip.
- You will see some .ttf or.otf files. These are the font files. Simply double click to open them then click ‘install’ in the top left corner. Or just right-click>install
- BOOM! That’s It! Your fonts are now installed and ready to use! Open Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or your preferred editing software and take it for a test drive! Just select it from the drop-down font choice menu (FYI – the font name is called steeltongs)
Installing on Apple Mac’s:
Mac OS X 10.3 or above (including the FontBook)
– Double-click the font file and hit “Install font” button at
the bottom of the preview.
Mac OS X
– Either copy the font file(s) to /Library/Fonts (for all users),
or to /Users/Your_username/Library/Fonts (for you only).
Mac OS 9 or earlier
– You have to convert the font file(s) you have downloaded.
Drag the font suitcases into the System folder. The system
will propose you to add them to the Fonts folder.
For Linux users:
– Copy the font file(s) to /USR/SHARE/FONTS
There are tonnes of other ways to install fonts easily on any system but to avoid this post being much longer than it needs to be I have kept the list shorter. Please feel free to comment below your method if you think it will help other people!
